MRT morning rush

The daily morning commute to work from Bukit Batok station to Raffles Place is such a nightmare!
People push and jostle their way in and the passengers are packed like sardines. I absolutely hate the lack of personal space.

I do hope the mrt situation will improve...

Nutmeg art

There's a cool fruit sculpture at ION Orchard by Kumari Nahappan.
It totally caught my eye and I love it!

A foodie indulgence

Hubby and I decided to head to Italiannies at TripleOne Somerset for an indulgent dinner.

As its name suggests, Italiannies serves Italian food where pasta and pizzas are freshly made.
We love it!

Light Musicians

I love the Esplanade. It brought me many much needed lunch time distraction.

These light musicians have been moving around the island and it is back at the Esplanade for now.

Update: I've the night time version!

Don't they look so adorable!

Lunch at OverEasy

The view at OverEasy is amazing.
Lunch time at One Fullerton is always peaceful and tranquil, a world of difference from the hustle and bustle of Raffles Place although they are but one street apart.

Is it time to go back to office already??

Merlion Hotel

On our way to lunch, my colleague and I noticed a new and swanky petite hotel which was actually an art installation by Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi. It was commissioned specially for the Singapore Biennale. Tatzu Nishi was famous for such weirdly displaced rooms.

Isn't it cool to get so up close and personal with Mr Merlion?

Vipassana Meditation

The exhibit by Marine KY, a French/Vietnamese artist, caught my attention today at the Esplanade. The exhibit evoked a luxurious sense of peace. It feels like a huge ass meditation space that I just want to crawl into it. It's a reminder for me to meditate to get in touch with my inner peace.

Morning Peace

These were taken near the starting point of the OCBC Cycle community ride. It is somewhere behind the Singapore Flyer. It was amazingly peaceful.

OCBC Cycle 2011

I've never participated in marathons or running events. But cycling, it's fun. I've been inspired by the Tour de France and I've come to respect the activity which I viewed as recreational but for others, it is somewhat of a Sufferfest for those who love the bike and a passion for cycling. A 20KM community ride is a milestone for me.

Little Treasure

The Esplanade Park may be small, but it has a lovely fountain. It's amazing I only noticed it recently when apparently the fountain was unveiled since 1882 to commemorate Tan Kim Seng, a philanthropist who helped build Singapore waterways!

Nourishing the body and soul

There's a new eating place at OUB center called The Herbal Bar.

I must say it's comfort food after a hard day's work!

Beach Road

I was craving for the bak kut teh along Beach Road yesterday evening and decided to pop by for dinner and a stroll at Haji Lane. The place is typically packed with the office lunch crowd. It was surprisingly peaceful and comfortable in the evening!

I do love those suitcases!
